We hope everyone is feeling relaxed and rested after the last few weeks of no school. We are getting ready for a busy spring at Barriere Secondary. On April 5 the school celebrated the Day of Sucwentwécw. Led by Rae Bowser and her Secwepemctsin language class, the school participated in traditional song, storytelling, food and outdoor activities. We are very thankful to Rae and her students for organizing an excellent day of activities.

A few notes from Athletics:

Boys’ rugby practices are happening Monday and Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. and any boy Grade 8-12 who is interested can come try it out. Girls’ rugby will have their first game next week. Soccer practice is starting next week also.

Badminton practices are happening Tues. and Thurs. after school - anyone interested please come try out.

The school would like to thank PAC and The Lower North Thompson Community Forest for helping to purchase new jerseys for our rugby, boys’ volleyball and Grade 8 girls’ and boys’ basketball teams.
