Lower North Thompson Community Forest announces $80,000 available in grants

Community Forest Society taking applications for grants now

The Lower North Thompson Community Forest Society (LNTCFS) have announced $80,000 will be available for community grants this year, with a deadline for applications being Dec. 31, 2017. Part of the LNTCFS’ mission is to “provide to the Lower North Thompson through sustainable forestry”. Therefore, surplus revenue is disbursed annually to local non-profit organizations. Grant applications are discussed by the LNTCFS Board of Directors before a decision is made.

Application forms and guidelines are available at the LNTCFS office (4648 Barriere Town Road) and on their website at: www. LNTCFS.org

The LNTCFS notes that grant applications may be submitted at any time, but grant decision making is only done once a year in January.

To apply for a grant, download the form below, and return your completed form to LNTCFS by mail or fax.

Of the $80,000 being offered this year, $30,000 will be awarded through scholarships and bursaries to the 2018 Barriere graduating class. The public are welcome to attend the LNTCFS AGM on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. at the North Thompson Volunteer Centre located at the Ridge, 4936 Barriere Town Road.
