Dorothy Mabel Hards (nee) Romanowski, born July 22, 1930 in New Westminster, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2017 at the age of 86 after a short stay in Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm, BC. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Walter and Gabrielle Romanowski (nee Boucher), her husband Frederick Hards, her brother Maurice Romanowski and her daughter Cathy Hards. She is survived by her sister Kay Wicks; her children Patricia Watt (Richard), Janet Beach, Phyllis Toews (Merv), Randy Blohm (Sandra), Wayne Blohm (Joni), Allen Blohm (Susanne), Debbie Gaetz (Mike), 29 grandchildren, 28 great grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family service was held in Barriere, BC on January 13, 2017. Dorothy devoted her life to travel, friends and to lovingly raise her family. The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to the Shuswap Lake General Hospital for the wonderful treatment of their mother and Fischer’s Funeral Service for their generosity and understanding in remaining open to accommodate distant extended family to pay their final respects to their loving mother and grandmother.
