October 28, 1949 - November 30, 2023

In Loving Memory ~

Sharon Rose Hawkins (nee Ferguson) of Kamloops, B.C. passed away on November 30, 2023. She was born on October 28, 1949, in Trail B.C. and grew up in Trail and Rossland. Sharon was the youngest sister of three siblings.

She is survived by her three sons Breck Hawkins (Christine), Kelly Hawkins (Tiffany), Ryan Hawkins (Stacey), Lori Watmough (Niece) and her husband of 54 years, Garry Hawkins.

She will also be missed by her beloved grandchildren Presley, Landon, and Parker.

She was predeceased by her parents Thomas William Ferguson and Violet Ruth Ferguson and her brother Gerald Harold Ferguson.

Our mom passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She passed away due to cancer. Mom never gave up and fought hard, but eventually succumbed to this horrible disease.

Mom was a staple in the community of Barriere, with her countless volunteer hours supporting school events and field trips, community sports events as well as local events at the curling club and the annual rodeo. Mom had a passion for gardening and spent many hours growing vegetables for us to eat and creating beautiful gardens for everyone to enjoy.

Mom was a bright light for everyone who knew her. Family and friends could always count on her for support. She loved to laugh, sing, dance and absolutely enjoyed food. She was a committed mom and wife who spent many days on the ball fields with her three sons.

Mom was the cornerstone of our family. There was nothing she would not do for us, and we will cherish that forever. Mom was a fighter right to the end and never gave up.

Our family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. W. Stinson and all the nurses on the 6th and 7th North and the 7th floor of the Gaglardi building for their continuous love and support during her battle.

As well, as a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the cancer clinic in Kelowna and the lovely staff at JoeAnna's House for their hospitality.

In lieu of flowers, Sharon has requested donations, in her name, to the SPCA or the B.C. Cancer Society.
