The entrance to Rainer Farm on Highway 5 in Darfield, B.C., has had a number of innovative and unique decorations over the years, such as this current round bale snowman that is on display. Margaret Houben photo:

To the editor;

We found the letter below attached to our snowman with a card and Christmas ornaments.

To the folks with the cool roadside displays;

Your family has provided for many years with your roadside displays.

I have had the opportunity to view your ever changing displays over the years, more recently as I am travelling from Merritt to Valemount on a weekly basis for work.

Your displays are one of the highlights of my trip, both forth and back.

You spend a great deal of time to create roadside masterpieces, and I thought I would take a moment to thank you.

It’s the little things in life that make the difference. Your family has made a difference.

I hope Christmas is especially rewarding for your family, and that the New Year brings you joy and prosperity.

Merry Christmas,

From a Roadside Admirer
