Competitive female hockey on display in Williams Lake Oct. 27-29

Teams from northern and southern B.C. set to compete at U18 Female Timberwolves tournament

Fans of competitive female hockey can cheer on the home team Oct. 27-29 in Williams Lake.

Williams Lake Minor Hockey Association’s U18 Female Timberwolves team is hosting a home tournament consisting of six teams, with hockey action getting underway Friday afternoon at Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex.

Coaching staff includes head coach Tyler Perry, along with assistant coaches Rick Skerry, Dave Beaudry and Gerald Overton.

“These girls are very excited to be playing in front of their friends and family,” said Coach Perry. “We are a very young team, but play with a lot of heart. All that I ask is that they play to the best of their abilities every single game, from the first puck drop until the final buzzer. If they do this, these young ladies will give themselves the opportunity to be very successful on the ice.”

Teams competing include North East, South Okanagan, Prince George, North Okanagan, Dawson Creek and the T-Wolves, who play Friday night at 7:15 p.m. versus Dawson Creek, Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. versus North East and Saturday evening at 7 p.m. versus North Okanagan. Finals are on Sunday.

Games will take place in Rink 1 and Rinnk 2 and are free to watch.
