District of Barriere hosts Community Forum

Last Sunday an ice dam broke on the Barriere River with the end result being large piles of giant snow covered slabs of ice now piled on the gravel up to five feet high where the river comes into the North Thompson.

The oval at Fadear Park has been a winter wonderland and a perfect place for photography after the last big snowfall came down earlier this month.  A look at the amount of snow on the top of the picnic table is a good indicator of how much snowfall Barriere has experienced so far this winter.

Carpet bowling at the Barriere Seniors Centre takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Adults of all ages are invited to come out and try their hand at this fun indoor sport.  No experience necessary.  Pictured are some of the bowlers at the hall last Tuesday.

The annual Christmas Tree Lightup was accompanied this year by a lantern parade that saw many families come out to participate despite the Arctic front that was in the area at the time.
