“We made $1,795.00,” said a happy Jane Milburn who oversees the Barriere Hospice Society which services the community and surrounding area.

Milburn was reporting on the May 10th annual Hospice Walk held in Barriere which is the only fundraiser the society holds each year.

“The money will go to help train our volunteers and to keep our loan cupboard current,” said Milburn, “It was a lovely warm evening for walking.  We all enjoyed it.  We saw a little deer on route, first eating in a vacant lot then crossing the road in front of us.”

A total of 14 turned out to participate in the walk along with three canine companions.

“We would like to thank all who walked for us and supported us,” said Milburn, “And we very much appreciate everyone who helped.”
