The North Thompson Volunteer and Information Centre (NTVIC) and Yellowhead Community Services’ Barriere and Area Literacy Outreach program have once again partnered to host the annual Summer Camps for kids.

The summer day camps are for kids ages five to 12 years, and cost just $2 per day per child.

There are different craft and educational activities each day that match a day or week theme. The children are required to bring a lunch and a water bottle. The camps take place in the NTVIC room at the Ridge (Municipal Hall)  in Barriere, and a healthy snack is provided.

Parents are requested to fill out a registration form and pick up their kids up on time.  The camps are drop in, with no requirements for kids to attend every day.

This week, from July  11 to 15, has been Science and Nature Week.

Here is the schedule for the upcoming camps that run daily from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

• July  18 - 22, Thompson Valley Players Drama Week

• July  25 - 29, Puppet Week

• Aug. 2 - 5, Board Game Week (make our own )

• Aug. 8 - 12, Olympic Week

The camps are also made possible by the support and generosity of the District of Barriere, Barriere Lions Club, the North Thompson Star/Journal and from donations received from Big Barriere Block Party attendees back in June.
