My weekend at the Peachland Pageant
My name is Sara Sabyan, I am the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Ambassador. On Saturday, Sept. 17 2016 I attended the Peachland Pageant. They had arranged an “amazing race” where we had to play Pictionary, charades, giant Yatzee. We stuck our hands in a bowl of spaghetti with weird stuff and had to find a quarter, we ate baby food and had to guess the flavours, we had great fun making toilet paper dresses.
Afterwords we went to the old school which houses the Bat Museum where we attended a seminar about bats, it was very interesting.
Once all of that was over we had a lovely turkey dinner with all the trimmings. It was so good.
There were 11 other communities present, Kamloops, Chase, West Kelowna, Kelowna, New Denver, Osoyoos, Oliver, Nanaimo, White Rock, Trail and Cranbrook. This was my first pageant so it was very exciting.
After dinner the pageant began and the new ambassadors representing the community of Peachland were chosen. Everyone did a wonderful job.
After the pageant there was a dance for all of the communities, we had a crazy fun time. I have made great friends and danced the night away!
It was so much fun, I am so thankful to the Peachland community for inviting me to their beautiful little town. I enjoyed my time so much, and a huge thank you to Laura Mairs for driving, chaperoning and giving me the opportunity to do and be part of the pageant. I am so thankful.
