Goodbye 2010, and welcome 2011 – it’s time for another great year of 4-H!

The Yellowhead 4-H club has lots to offer. In 4-H there are two different areas of interest; the lamb club and beef club.

January 6th was our first meeting of the year. The meetings are held in the Barriere Legion basement on the first Thursday evening of the month. At our meeting, we elected our new executive members: President Nicole Huber, vice-president Spencer Pawloff, secretary Rebecca Greenwell, treasurer Alexander Peterson, club reporter Garrett Tremblay, beef safety officer Jack Greenwell and sheep safety officer Jacob Peterson.

The Yellowhead 4-H club comes with lots of life skills; for example, caring for an animal, making speeches and having lots of fun! So, if you want some great beef or lamb in your freezer, come check the 4-H club out at the North Thompson Fall Fair on Sept. 3 to 5th. We then sell the animals at the Provincial Winter Fair on Sept. 22 to 26th. For more information please contact Sandra Burkholder at 250-672-2420.
