Christmas came early for the North Thompson Agriplex Committee last Friday when Barriere’s AG Foods made a substantial donation towards Phase Two of the building.
“We believe in supporting positive community initiatives,” said AG Foods proprietor Ivan Lee as he passed a cheque for $10,000 to North Thompson Agriplex Committee Co-chair Jill Hayward, “We support as much as we can, especially in our own community.”
Hayward said it was exciting to be able to say the money will be going towards the next stage of the Agriplex, which will include washrooms, offices, showers, and a public area; as well as more bleachers, and event partitions.
“Phase one, erecting the shell, is paid for in full,” said Hayward, “We are now into the next stage of the project, and it is wonderful to receive such tremendous ongoing support from the community and our merchants. Thank you so much to the Lee family and AG Foods for putting such a nice cheque under the Agriplex’s Christmas tree.”
