More than 20 fish were brought in to be weighed at the North Thompson Fish and Game Club Society’s annual Father’s Day Fishing Derby.
The fish were caught in local lakes include North Barriere, Dunn, Lynn and Allen Lake - all well within the 50 km radius of the Barriere Band Shell. Some 32 people were registered for the event, including 13 children with parents or grandparents.
“All had wonderful stories of a great day fishing, even if they did not catch anything,” said organizer Kathy Campbell. “Next year looking forward to the same sunny warm day of fishing with no restrictions on families having fun and on one of the most wonderful days to celebrate - Father’s Day.”
