Art gallery opens in Barriere

The grand opening of the Armour Mountain Art Gallery will take place on Aug. 16, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The members of the North Thompson Art Council (NTAC), and Lana Laskovic, of Armour Mountain Office Services, say they are pleased to announce the grand opening of the Armour Mountain Art Gallery on Aug. 16, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  The Gallery is at #4 - 4480 Barriere Town Road, inside the Armour Mountain Office Services store in the AG Foods mall.  The whole community of Barriere is invited to come down and check out the ‘Bulls, Boots and Broncs’ display, and talk to the artists.

An art gallery is a vital and significant educational tool that creates opportunities for people of all ages to connect with their community through art, and at the Armour Mountain Art Gallery there will be a wide assortment of items on display: from pottery to jewelry, cards to gloves, water colours to oil paintings, photographs, and crystals to stained glass.

This is an exciting new venture for the community, having an official art gallery where local artists can display and sell their works.  Over the past month, NTAC members have been spreading the word to artists throughout the North Thompson Valley, encouraging them to sign up for the first term.  Each term is for six months, and during this time, the display may change monthly as items are sold and new items added, so be sure to drop by often to see what’s new.
