Barriere Annex Thrift Shop awards Harvest Gift Basket during Fall Fair

The Barriere Annex Thrift Shop coordinated a gift basket in honour of the 75th anniversary of the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo

The Barriere Annex Thrift Shop coordinated a 'Home for the Harvest' gift basket in honour of the 75th anniversary of the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo.

"Due to a shortage of staff at the Annex, the Annex was unable to participate in the Best Decorated Business for the NTFFR's 75th Anniversary 'Home for the Harvest' competition this year," said Annex executive director Debbie Johnston, said. "So instead, I decided to put together a community harvest gift basket to support the theme of the weekend."

Johnston approached local businesses and residents willing to support the basket and in turn showing their own community spirit for the annual event.

Donations were contributed by:

Tom Love Honey, Barriere Annex Thrift Shop, Cari Crawford/ Louise Creek Artisan Market, Christine Proulx Ranch, James Akey/Stoned Pepper, Joanne/Lavender #7, Lorraine Thiesen/Pickled Pepper Pantry, Teniye Market, Mary MacLeenan/Bears Country Produce, Mary-Lou Jones, Pat McLoy, Debbie Johnston, Irene Wassing, Lauren Green and Wendy Gailbraith.

Customers were required to spend $10 or more on any fall kitchen item or decor, western wear or $8 on a grocery bag of discounted clothing in order to enter the draw.

"We are happy to announce the winners of the Harvest Gift Basket, who were thrilled to receive it, were Debbie and Dave Worthington," said Johnston. "I would like to thank those people and businesses who contributed to the basket, customers that shopped under the draw rules and congratulate the Worthingtons."
