Barriere Annex Thrift Shop thanks all who donate throughout the year

The Barriere Annex Thrift Shop thanks the community of Barriere and all of those who help throughout the year.

The Barriere Annex Thrift Shop is an entity of the Church of St. Paul and a community charity group fully operated by volunteers. The Annex is located at 4646 Barriere Town Road and open on: Tues., Wed. and Sat. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Thurs. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Our donations come from the generous people from all over the North Thompson. Without your donations and patronage we would not be able to offer our services to the area. For over the past three years we have been able to donate to so many other groups within the community. From the Barriere First Responders, Barriere Search and Rescue, Chu Chua Volunteer Fire Department, Teen Scene, the Barriere Outdoor Club, Secret Santa for Seniors, Elves Workshop, Better Beginnings Kitten Rescue and so many more. These groups are all run by volunteers and in need of support.

We have been able to provide much needed items to victims in communities in the North Thompson Valley and beyond during natural disasters, including; Lytton, Monte Lake, Merritt and many others. In our community the needs for each volunteer group are becoming a struggle for many relying on businesses within the area to help, but with so many groups looking for support many supporters are becoming tapped out and drained. Supplies and equipment needed can be expensive for volunteer organizations especially with the rise in costs. Your support has helped immensely. Whether you donate to the Annex or shop in the thrift store, you are helping our community organizations.

Helping is why we are here. It is such a tremendous feeling being able to give back to others. Last month we were able to donate to the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Association for evacuated animals. Smaller groups like the ones we are donating to this month are in need of supplies to work with our children. This month we are donating to these three groups: First Barriere Scouts, Yellowhead 4-H Club and the Girl Guides of Barriere.

Thank you Barriere and area, for your continued support in helping out within our community.
