The North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Association have announced that the Barriere Best Dressed Business Contest for Fall Fair week has been reinstated due to popular demand.

“We are excited to bring back this contest,” says NTFFRA president Jill Hayward, “And we have a whole new list of prizes for the top three business displays this year, with first prize valued at $420.”

Three winning businesses will receive:

• First place; A $100 gift certificate to Sam’s Pizza for a staff pizza party, two VIP seats in the rodeo arena crowsnest for all three days of the Fall Fair (value $200), and 10 one day passes to the Fall Fair and Rodeo (value $120).  Total value $420.

• Second place;  A $50 gift certificate to Sam’s Pizza, two tickets to the Fall Fair Cabaret Dance on Saturday night (value $50 but priceless if you try to get one!), and five one-day passes to the Fall Fair and Rodeo ($60). Total value $160.

• Third place;  four tickets to the Sunday Night Cowboy Concert (value $40), and four one-day passes to the Fall Fair and Rodeo (value $48). Total value $88.

The theme for the fair this year is scarecrows, and the animal theme is heavy horses.   Businesses entering the contest are encouraged to embrace one or both of the themes in their displays.

Contest rules and entry forms will be distributed to District of Barriere businesses within the next week by NTFFRA representative Michelle Holowaychuk.  You can also pick one up at the Barriere and Area Chamber of Commerce office by the beginning of next week.

Residents are already looking forward to seeing the town transformed as area businesses join in the spirit of the Fall Fair.
