The annual Barriere Blooms Contest winners were announced at the Barriere Bandshell on Friday evening, Aug. 12, by contest organizer and District of Barriere Councilor, Donna Kibble.
Blooms contest organizer this year was once again by Donna Kibble, who is also a councilor for the District of Barriere.
Kibble said she thoroughly enjoys seeing the amazing gardens the community produces each year, and the contest is just one way of recognizing everyone’s hard work.
“I want to thank Lorraine Thiesen, Laurie Hawley, Mayor Ward Stamer, and Jill Hayward for helping with the judging,” said Kibble. “I also want to say a big thank you to Barriere and Area Literacy Outreach and Literacy Outreach Coordinator Jill Hayward for providing the children who entered with kid’s gardening books and gift certificates so they could buy plants and seeds to start their gardens.”
Kibble also thanked, “Chelsea Young for the paper work, and everyone for participating and helping our town look so good.”
