Barriere Community Consultative Group meets Sept. 8 – all welcome

Meetings provide line of direct communication between RCMP detachment and its community

The Barriere Community Consultative Group To The RCMP will be meeting this Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Barriere Ridge (Municipal Hall), at 4 p.m.

Anyone can attend these monthly meetings which are hosted by an informal body that is drawn from all facets of the community.   The meetings provide a line of direct communication between the RCMP detachment and its community.

This group came into being over two decades ago to provide area citizens a place to voice their concerns and hold healthy discussions about what is happening in the community.

Corporal Steve Mancini will be in attendance at Thursday’s meeting, and area residents who may have concerns or questions about what is happening in the community, or their neighbourhoods are encourage to come out and assure themselves that the local police are aware of the situation, and if so, how it is being addressed.

Our local police detachment encourages area citizens to take part in these meetings, which create dialogue and discussion together on how the community can be made safer for all who live here.

If you have concerns about what is happening in your neighbourhood, but cannot attend the meeting, please contact the Barriere RCMP directly so they too are aware of the problem and can address it if required, call 250-672-9918.
