Barriere Crime Stoppers needs new members

The Barriere Crime Stoppers group are putting out the call for new members

The Barriere Crime Stoppers group are putting out the call for new members says current president Monica Ireland.

“We need to increase our base of members,” said Ireland, “People to discuss crime concerns within the community and to share ideas.  We also raise money through community fundraising events for TIPS.”

The Crime Stoppers TIP line is staffed by trained personnel who receive, process, and pass on tip information to investigating officers. Callers are given a code number and callers do not have to identify themselves.

Ireland invites anyone who is interested in finding out more about the organization to join them at their upcoming AGM on Dec. 14, 6 p.m. at the Station House Restaurant in Barriere.

The Crime Stoppers Society is a non-profit charitable organization and is responsible for raising funds and the disbursements of rewards. The Board of Directors work in close cooperation with the Police Department and all areas of the media. www.canadiancrimestoppers.org
