The much awaited dog park in Barriere is “almost ready to go,” said District of Barriere Public Works Manager Chris Matthews in an interview last Monday. “The fencing is completed, and we are now just waiting for the water lines to go in.”

Canine owners will find the new dog park situated on the west side of Barriere’s Fadear Park on Airfield Road, and directly north of the Barriere Elementary School. The park has a double entry gate, plus two separately fenced areas so that small and large dogs can have their own areas to play in.

“We are hoping to have the opening next week if the water lines get in,” said Matthew.
