Barriere celebrated Canada Day with a First Responders Parade

July 1, 2020, might have been a wet one in the North Thompson, but the spirits of Barriere and area residents were raised when the First Responders Parade (with some representatives and staff from the municipality) drove through subdivisions and along Barriere Town Road with lights flashing and sirens on.

July 1, 2020, might have been a wet one in the North Thompson, but the spirits of Barriere and area residents were raised when the First Responders Parade (with some representatives and staff from the municipality) drove through subdivisions and along Barriere Town Road with lights flashing and sirens on.

At the same time the parade was taking place in a Barriere subdivision, an accident happened on Highway 5 at the intersection by the Esso Station. As a result, the ambulance and two of the firetrucks in the parade had to leave and attend the accident scene. This left the number of vehicles in the parade depleted, but spectator enthusiasm did not waiver.
