“We continue to invest in sponsorship activities that connect with Canadians in meaningful and relevant ways,” reports Barriere Interior Savings Insurance’s Branch Manager Holly Fenrick.

Fenrick says her branch recently submitted a request for community support to Intact Insurance’s Better Communities Program.

“We put forward our local Barriere Outdoor Club, advising Intact that the society is always in need of funds for support towards grooming equipment for Barriere Forks Trails and equipment for youth,” said Fenrick.

“It was wonderful news to recently hear that our application was approved for the amount of $2500 and will be going to the Barriere Outdoor Club.”

The Barriere Outdoor Club (formally recognized as the North Thompson Recreation Society) is a well-established nonprofit organization in Barriere with a mandate to provide recreational programs and facilities to area youth and adults. They annually provide coaches and volunteers to organize and run local school ski and snowshoeing programs, as well as maintaining the Barriere Forks Trails year round. The organization has no employees, and operates solely on volunteers. Major operational funding comes from donations and/or grants.
