Some members of the Barriere Outdoor Club decided to take advantage of snowy conditions at Sun Peaks on New Year's Day 2025 since there isn't enough snow on Barriere trails yet.
The group brought their snowshoes and cross-country skis along and captured some memorable moments including a plump little Whisky Jack also known as a Canada Jay.
Barriere Outdoor Club vice president, Mary MacLennan, told the Barriere Star/Journal, "we will be offering some cross-country skiing lessons this winter and hope anyone interested in joining our club or getting involved in local outdoor events will visit our website for more information this winter."
