Barriere paramedics recognized for their years of service

Two of Barriere’s ambulance personal recently received recognition for their outstanding dedication as paramedics from the BC Emergency Health Services.

Both Susan Black and Tim Hoffman attended the ceremonies for the presentations.

Susan Black was presented with her 25 year service award at the ceremony.  Black started as a part-time paramedic in Barriere in 1988, and then went full time in the lower mainland from 1998 to 2007.  She now continues to work as a part-time paramedic on the ambulance in Barriere.

Tim Hoffman received his 35 year service award, as well as a 2014 Award of Excellence for career achievement.   Hoffman started as a paramedic in 1979 and worked full time in the lower mainland until 1988.  In 1988 he became the full time Unit Chief at the Barriere Ambulance Station until retiring from full time in 2011. Hoffman still continues to work part-time at the Barriere Station.
