Pickleball is again alive and well in the community of Barriere thanks to fundraising by the Barriere Outdoor Club, paving provided by the District of Barriere, and support from the community.

The Outdoor Club is inviting anyone who would like to try their hand to come out and play pickleball on the newly resurfaced and painted courts by the ball parks and next to the cemetery on Airfield Road.

Pickleball is an easy to play, non-contact, action packed racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. It is played with a hand-held paddle and a perforated, plastic ball. It can be played by almost all ages and athletic skill levels, and pickleball is now being offered four times a week; Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Beginners are welcome and instruction is available.
