Barriere Secondary School (BSS) athletics hosted a dunk tank at this year’s North Thompson Fall Fair event held over the three day Labour Day weekend at the fairgrounds in Barriere.

BSS Athletics Coach Travis Repka says thanks to the grand success of the dunk tank fundraiser at the fair they have purchased brand new athletic equipment for the school.

“We were able to buy top of the line volleyballs, basketballs, and soccer balls,” said Coach Repka, noting he spent approximately $1800 dollars on the set of equipment shown in the attached photo, and has about $1200 left over to order new rugby balls, badminton racquets, and other equipment.

“The North Thompson Fall Fair letting us have the dunk tank has put so many smiles on kids faces,” added the coach, “When I showed them the new equipment they were like kids on Christmas.”
