The annual Barriere Secondary Grad fashion show fundraiser for 2024’s dry grad will take place on May 1, 2024 in the BSS gym. Admission is $10 per ticket and proceeds go towards the 2024 dry grad celebrations and trip. It’s the 27th year for the fashion show held at the high school and this year’s theme is Walking Through The Decades. Seen here are the grad fashion show participants from 1997 (Left to Right): Josee Hartfield, Brenda Collins, Tanya Speer, Regina Rehak, Autumn Borojevic, Kristin Hill, Robyn Anderson, Alyson Webber, Christina Taylor

Come on down to Barriere Secondary School to dance through the decades of music with the graduates of 2024 on May 1 starting at 6 p.m. in the BSS gym.

Following the 27th annual tradition the grads have put together a silent auction as well as the fashion show where graduates will be dancing through the years of music. The theme this year is Walking Through The Decades and we are looking forward to seeing you there to support the 2024 dry grad.

This creative fundraiser has been an ongoing tradition for Barriere’s graduates since 1997 when the first annual fashion show was held. Many parents, grandparents, and relatives who have been involved in this community event now get to watch the 27th generation of graduates rock the show. This entertaining and hilarious show is held to fundraise for the dry grad activities, which includes a grad dinner and a trip to Revelstoke after graduation for a day of white water rafting, as well as the Revelstoke mountain coaster.

This show has evolved plenty over the years, starting from a girls’ runway show into a co-ed variety show with all gradding students participating in this memorable musical that also includes a silent auction with items that have been generously donated by local businesses throughout Barriere. Come sing and dance along to some amazing songs such as; These Boots Are Made For Walking by Nancy Sinatra, Barbie Girl by Aqua, and Footloose by Kenny Loggins, to name a few.

Tickets will be sold prior to the event for $10 each and can be purchased from any BSS graduate. If you stop by BSS you can purchase your tickets through a grad at the school.

All refreshments and delicious snacks, including bannock, will be donated by locals and the grads families and will be sold during the show.

We hope to see you in the audience.
