The Better at Home program sponsored by Yellowhead Community Services (YCS) was developed to support seniors in the North Thompson in Clearwater and Barriere, 65 years and older. The purpose of the program is to assist seniors in staying in their own homes for as long as possible independently.
The YCS Better Home program needs volunteers and hoping available members in both communities will consider contributing some time to assist those living alone that may require assistance with; grocery pick-up and delivery, prescription pick-up and delivery, light yard work service, light housekeeping service, transportation to medical appointments and friendly visiting (phone calls or in person visits).
Volunteers 19 years and older are welcome to add their names to the volunteer list. For teens under 19 adult supervisions with a responsible adult is required.

On Feb. 28, the Better at Home program will be hosting a presentation and luncheon from 11 – 12:30 p.m. at the Barriere and District Senior Society Drop-In Centre.
