The Barriere Bike Rodeo will take place in the community on June 10, from 12 noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Barriere Senior Centre parking lot across from the Fadear Park Bandshell.

Youth age three to 16 years of age are encouraged to come out with their bicycles and participate.

There is no cost to do so.

Organizers say they will run the participants through four stages, showing them biking skills and teaching them about bike safety.

All participants must use a bike helmet during the event with a helmet fit check prior to riding the course. There will be extra helmets to use if you don’t have one.

There will also be a bike check station available to see if your bike is set up properly.

After the participants are finished they will be given a draw prize ticket where they will have a chance to win one of many prizes such as a new bike, bike helmet, bike lock or other fun items for the summer.

The prizes will be awarded in front of the Bandshell at Fadear Park at 2:30 p.m.

After the event, the Big Barriere Block Party will be starting up at 3 p.m. with many great events for the entire family including bouncy castles, the grand opening of the Barriere Splash Pad, live music and many other fun and interesting things.

There will also be dozens of information booths and vendors set up at Fadear Park.
