Board game exchange part of Family Literacy Day in Barriere

Board game exchange part of Family Literacy Day in Barriere

Family Literacy Day is a national awareness initiative created by ABC Life Literacy Canada in 1999 and held annually on January 27 to raise awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family.  We encourage all families to turn-off the TV on the evening of Friday, January 27 and read together, or play a board game in support of this event.

In support of Family Literacy Day  a board game exchange will take place at Barriere Elementary School.

We encourage each student to bring a board game from home that is no longer played, then over the lunch hour each student will be allowed to pick another game to take home to keep and to play that evening.

To ensure each child is able to pick a game we are asking the public to donate any games they may have at home (please ensure all games are complete).   The games can be dropped off at Barriere Employment Office, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm.

No puzzles please.
