The male members of the Church of St Paul congregation meet once a month at someone’s home to socialize over a cup of coffee; each attendee then leaves a donation after the gathering which is passed on to the Barriere Food Bank.

Most recently, the group thought it was time to say thank you to the Food Bank’s volunteers by inviting all the volunteers to a breakfast at the Church on Jan. 15.  Reverend Keith Petersen organized the event, with the men cooking up a tasty traditional breakfast, complete with bacon, sausage, fruit, toast and of course eggs; which was enjoyed by all.

Reverend Petersen spoke to the attendees about being there for their community – filling a need for those who at times don’t have the means to provide enough food for themselves, and often for their families. He assured them that the volunteer service they provided was truly appreciated by those in need, and also by their community.
