When the Yellowhead Artists group finally disbanded after hosting the annual Candle Light and Holly for over 30 years the area’s art community lost an icon.  However,  many of the artists that were a part of that group are still creating and socializing together.  So much so that they have formed a new area group called Brushes of Barriere and they are welcoming others to participate.

Brushes of Barriere get together on Fridays from 12 noon to 2:30 p.m. in the North Thompson Volunteer and Information Centre at the Ridge.

This is where all level and abilities of artists or aspiring artists can gather to learn, work on a project in the company of friends, share information and tips, or just socialize. Watercolours, acrylics, crafts are already being enjoyed on a weekly basis.

Everyone is welcome to stop in and see what it is all about – bring your art supplies, and if you would like to learn someone there will help you.  For more info call Jessie Maisonneuve at 250-672-9772 or Colleen Lyons at 250-672-9541.
