On Monday, Oct. 15, at the District of Barriere council meeting, Leslie Stirling (left), former administrator of the Barriere Improvement District, presented Mayor Virginia Smith with a last meeting cake reflecting on Smith’s service for the community since incorporation 11 years ago. Mayor Smith had announced she would not be running for re-election.
Stirling also reminisced about the cake she had baked for the very first meeting of the District of Barriere Council back in 2007.
