The 4th Annual Canadian Blue Moon Elvis Festival was held in Barriere last weekend at the North Thompson fall fairgrounds with a full contingent of entertainers that included numerous Elvis tribute artists.

This was the second year in a row that the Canadian Bluemoon Ventures Ltd. has hosted their event at the fairgrounds, and there is positive growth and success on all fronts say the organizers.

The event started Friday night, and ran right through to Sunday evening with enthusiastic fans and audience members arriving from B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Washington, Oregon and further afield.  They came to socialize, hear the music, meet the artists and have photos taken with their favourite entertainers.

Although the Friday event experienced a good downpour of rain the fans toughed it out under raincoats and umbrellas.  The rest of the weekend saw a few showers, some thunder storms, and plenty of sunshine as well.

The musical weekend was a trip down memory lane accompanied by the  golden oldies of that era. Many folks got up and danced, clapped or sang along, and all gave enthusiastic applause after each performance.

The talent was first rate, the atmosphere inviting and the audience went home happy.

The event was once again well received, and organizers have already booked the facility to return to Barriere in July of 2017 for their fifth annual event.
