Thompson Valley Players youth group’s Charlie Brown Christmas Play presentation was a great success, with both performances basically selling out; Friday was close to packed, and Saturday was sold out.

Before each performance, the Grinch visited briefly, and was scolded for his grumpy outlook on Christmas by director Dan Sweetnam who introduced the play to the audience.

All the young performers did a great job, and Pig-Pen, (Dryden Howe), was a delight to watch, as he really did produce a cloud of dust wherever he went, causing fellow actors to cough realistically.  Snoopy, (Chad Gartner), only had three ‘words’ in the entire play; moo, baa, and boo, but was very expressive in his actions and elicited a chorus of ah-h-hs when he slunk dejectedly off-stage after Charlie Brown (Josiah Sweetnam) said there wasn’t time for lunch.

Local theatre goers can expect to see more such entertaining productions in 2012, as Thompson Valley Players say they are already considering which play to do next.
