The Clearwater Voices United Community Choir will be bringing the Cantata “Night of the Father’s Love: The Awe and Mystery of God with Us” to Barriere on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 4 p.m., at the Barriere Senior’s Centre.
Although the choir has been singing together for a number of years, this is the first time that the choir will be offering the cantata as a community event in Barriere.
For the past two years, the choir has been invited to offer it at the Christian Life Assembly – this year, the choir wanted to open it up to the public.
A cantata is a story set to music; this cantata is a telling of the Christmas story with music and narration.
Everyone is invited to come to the Senior’s Centre on Dec. 10, and hear the re-telling of this sacred ancient story; or if you’re going to be in Clearwater on Saturday, Dec. 17, the choir will present the cantata at the Clearwater Community Baptist Church.
Entrance is by donation, and the donations from both the Barriere and Clearwater performances will be donated to the North Thompson Valley Hospice House Society.
