The Christmas Tree light up in Barriere will be happening in Fadear Park this Saturday, Dec. 11, starting at 2 p.m., with plans to light up the Christmas tree between 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
This fun family event officially kicks offthe holiday season in the community, and in keeping with that theme there will be a visit with Santa Claus for the children. Parents are reminded to bring your camera or cell phone so you can take plenty of memorable photos.
December is always a little chilly outside, but that won’t be a problem in Fadear Park for the tree light up as there will be bonfires to gather around while visiting with friends.
Hot dogs and hot drinks by donation will be provided by the Barriere Lions Club, with all proceeds going to the Barriere Elementary PAC. There will also be cookies available from Barriere Elementary School’s grade 6 class who are raising funds for their year-end trip.
The Barriere Fire Department will be attending to the final arrangements before they light up the Christmas Tree.
As one Lion’s Club member commented, “If we are going to catch something this month, let it be the Christmas Spirit!”
