It’s time to think about roasting and toasting Barriere’s current Citizen of the Year, Carol Patton.
Patton received the community honour in October of 2011, after a panel of judges (comprising of up of local groups and service organizations) made their decisions. At that time the decision was also made to hold the Citizen of the Year Banquet in the New Year, rather at the end of November as has been done in the past.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 28, at the Barriere Lions Hall; cocktails at 6 p.m., and dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $17 each and will be available at the Star/Journal, NT Volunteer Centre at the Ridge, and the Barriere Employment Centre.
Anyone who would like to make a presentation to Carol Patton, say a few words, or do a little roasting is invited to call Donna Kibble at 250-672-5672, or Cory Walker or Connie Falk at 250-672-0036, so your name can be given to the MC.
The Citizen of the Year is sponsored by the Star/Journal NT Volunteer Centre, and the District of Barriere.
