Barriere Community Quilters received a cheque for $250 from Bonnie CruzelleMyram, Director of TNRD Area ‘O’ on Friday, Oct. 28; to assist the groups most recent project to make quilts for cancer victims.
“Being a cancer survivor myself,” said CruzelleMyram, “I’m very in favour of this project; I know how comforting it can be.”
Lita Hanson accepted the cheque on behalf of the Quilters.
“We try to keep several finished quilts always on hand,” Hanson explained, “So that we can immediately hand them out when we get a request.”
The Quilters currently have about 10 quilts ready to go, each themed to either men, women or children.
