The North Thompson Fish and Game Club Society (NTFG) were happy to host the recent Bob Hobbs Memorial long range match the weekend of Oct. 18, at their Gorman FSR Range.
“Twenty-one competitors from three provinces braved the weather and had a ball,” reported NTFG Director Don Piper, who is also a BCRA F Class Director.
“The match was shot at 700m over two days with challenging conditions,” told Piper, “To put it into context, the top two shooters kept all 75 shots for score inside a seven inch circle at 700m. That’s some fine shooting!”
Piper says their next match, weather permitting, is the Frosty Farky scheduled for Oct. 31 - Nov1.
This match is in honour of the late George Farquson who was the founder of ‘F class’.
“Farquson was a long time shooter and resident of Kamloops,” said Piper, “This is now a recognized international sport. The NTFG is well on its way to being one of the prime competitive locations in B.C.”
