At the Oct. 9, District of Barriere Development Committee meeting, the committee members received updates on several projects.
Two websites are currently under development on which the District of Barriere is able to post information. One is at www.investnorthwestbc.ca (administered by the Thompson Nicola Regional District), and the other is the Opportunities BC portion of the www.britishcolumbia.ca site (administered by the government).
The Economic Development Officer, Andrew Hayward gave a report on his activities during September, which included a number of meetings with investors from Saskatchewan, Ontario, Calgary, and oversees Investors.
After some discussion, it was decided that EDO Hayward would spend 10 hours in October, and 20 hours in November, assisting the Chamber of Commerce in its’ Shop Local Christmas Program.
The next meeting of the Development Committee will be on Nov. 20, at 7 p.m.
