Call it a grand family ‘kick-off’ to get the 64th Annual North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo off to a down-home country start!
Don your dancing boots, and get together with Gordie West and Vern Cave for a good old fashioned Family Dance to start your weekend of fun and festivities.
No, this isn’t the big Fall Fair Cabaret Dance that takes place the following night on Saturday Aug, 31.
This dance is a little more laid back, and is non-alcoholic so even the kids can take part.
West says folks are encouraged to “… bring the whole family and share your two steppin’ skills. Bring the young ones to have them experience a taste of the good ole days”.
Do you cherish fond memories of seeing both young and old on a crowded dance floor; or of watching the little ones, once the first music notes echoed and the evening waned, going one by one to makeshift beds around the floor?
You’re not a dancer you say?
Well then, come on in and join in the fun of an evening of listening to the many tunes of yesteryear.
Mark your calendars – Friday, Aug. 30, 7-10 p.m., in the Fall Fair Hall off Barriere Lakes Road. Bring your friends and neighbours!
Admission is $10, with children 10 and under free of charge. This will be a non-alcoholic event, with other refreshments available.
