Better get going on your spring cleanup chores so you are ready to take advantage of the Sunday, April 17, 2011 Free Dump Day.
On that day the Thompson Nicola Regional District will be allowing residents in Barriere to dispose of up to $20 worth of material for free at the dump.
This is a good opportunity to encourage residents to get going on clean-up chores and save money as well.
The TNRD says their goal is to reduce the amount of waste littering the environment and encourage community members to help conserve, protect, and enhance their local environment as part of Pitch-In Canada Week.
Residents may bring in any combination of material that can be disposed of free of charge, up to a $20 value. Any personal residential waste brought in on this day above the $20 limit will be subject to tipping fees that will need to be paid for by the resident.
The free dumping will be available at the Barriere landfill located at 1500 Barriere Lakes Road between 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 17.
Residents may bring:
• Household waste
• Demolition and construction waste
• White goods
(washers/dryers/ stoves. etc.)
• Large furniture
• Water coolers
• Refrigerators/ Freezers
The TNRD empathises that this event is for residential use only. Commercial loads are subject to full tipping fees.
