Heffley Creek finds smiles and happiness for Easter

“The streets in Heffley Creek were a busy place the morning of Sunday, April 17,” said area resident Deb McDougall, “Dozens of children, youth and even older adults could be seen beating bushes and peering behind rocks in search of hidden treasures courtesy of the Easter bunny.”

“The streets in Heffley Creek were a busy place the morning of Sunday, April 17,” said area resident Deb McDougall, “Dozens of children, youth and even older adults could be seen beating bushes and peering behind rocks in search of hidden treasures courtesy of the Easter bunny.”

McDougall, who was a key organizer of the large Community Easter Hunt, says the event was sponsored by the Heffley Creek Hall and K9 Fun N Games.

Three teams of ‘Bunny Assistants’ were kept busy the days leading up to the event prepping for this Easter Sunday event. Their work made it possible for kids to find colored plastic eggs filled with candy, or hit the jackpot by finding the coveted Golden Egg, both of which were hidden all over Heffley Creek.

Cryptic clues were given to the children, and by answering riddles and posting selfie pictures of their eggs, the youngsters could also receive extra entries to win the Grand Prize of a custom gift certificate.

“By all reports it was a success,” said a very happy Deb McDougall.
