Wells Gray Information Centre has done it again.

Despite the fires and closures last year, the Infocentre was once again the busiest information centre in B.C.

Last year’s total number of visitors for May to September was 100,509. This is down a bit when compared with the 115,022 who visited in 2016.

Counts at other information centres in B.C. last year were Victoria, 96,094; BCVC Merritt, 86,663; Whistler, 82,916; and Vancouver, 80,271.

Wells Gray Information Centre opened on April 23, one week early, with support from Tourism Wells Gray.

With the increasing number of visitors, the Infocentre hours have been increased to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week.
