Did you know the North Thompson Fall Fair holds two parades over the Labour Day weekend?
Besides the big Fall Fair parade on the Saturday, the annual Family Parade, held this year on Monday, Sept. 2, is always a hit for all ages! Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and the parade begins at 10:30 a.m. sharp! The Family Parade is open to all ages of participants, and is sponsored by the Thompson Valley Players.
The Parade will begin at Barriere High School, proceed down Barriere Lakes Road and end at the Fall Fair stage where special ribbons and prizes will be handed out.
Now is the time to decorate your bike, your wagon, or your ATV; they also send out a warm welcome to area seniors on their scooters.
Prizes will be awarded to best costumes, best float, and best motorized unit just to name a few. And don’t forget to dress up your pets, they are welcome in the parade as well. Judging will be done by the Fall Fair Ambassadors, who are already looking forward to seeing your creativity for the annual Family Parade. Be there!
Check out the Fall Fair catalogue for more information or stop in at the Fall Fair office in the IDA Mall next to Armour Mt. Office Supplies. You can also pick up a catalogue from the front porch of the Star/Journal at any time.
