Fadear Park is becoming a popular spot for weddings in the community.  One wedding took place  on Sept. 24, when a Barriere family celebrated the marriage of Justin Hay to Victoria Mackinnon who hails from Prince Edward Island.

The wedding theme was ‘early fall’, with a multitude of sunflowers brilliantly adding bright yellow colour everywhere as the couple said their vows to become man and wife.

All of the decorations for the wedding were made by family members and friends.

The afternoon sun shed a golden light throughout the trees along the pathway as the bride made her entrance, adding an ambiance of warmth and colorful simplicity to the event.

Yvonne Hay, mother of the groom, said, “Your family tree begins today. May your branches grow big as can be. Standing healthy and strong, like families should be. Your family and friends all joined you today for a walk in the park on a most beautiful day.”

The families of the bride and groom thanked the District Of Barriere “for the use of our beautiful park”, and also the Barriere’s Seniors Center Hall for the rental of their facility.

“Together this made a wedding day for all to remember,” said the family.
