Kamloops job fair to host over 30 employers and service providers

Tuesday, Oct. 14, over 30 of the region’s largest employers set to participate in a local hiring fair

On Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, over 30 of the region’s largest employers and service providers are set to participate in a local hiring fair that has been organized by Open Door Group and the Kamloops Employment Service Network who operate the WorkBC Employment Services Centres in the area.

Located at the Interior Savings Centre in downtown Kamloops (inside the Parkside Lounge), the event will run from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is free to attend.

The 2013 Kamloops Hiring Fair saw over 800 job seekers walking through the door to connect with over 30 employers. A hiring fair is not just an event for job seekers to drop off resumes; it is an opportunity for job seekers to network with some of the top employers in the region and for employers to put faces and personalities to the applicants. The employers and service providers range in scope from entry-level positions to management; from trades, sales, service, administration, labour and more.

Some big names in the region have already signed on are Domtar, The Home Depot, Absorbent Products, Wendy’s, Sun Peaks Resort, Acres Enterprises, Loram Maintenance, ARAS360 Technologies, as well as Bladerunners, TQM Consulting, Sprott Shaw College, Junior Achievement, Tolko Industries and many others.

Job seekers do not need to register in advance, the Fair is free and open to the public. Contact Kevin Watt at 866 377 3670 or email kevin.watt@opendoorgroup.org.
