The Barriere and Area Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards for 2016 were presented at their Nov. 12 dinner and comedy night in the fall fair hall.

MC Lana Laskovik said, “We gather tonight to acknowledge the over 100 small businesses operating in this area of the valley with over 70 of these being chamber members. We enjoy recognizing those in the community who exemplify service and quality.”

The Business of the year award went to Barriere Timber Mart with presentations made by MLA Terry Lake, Mayor Virginia Smith and Chamber president Lana Laskovik.  Runners up for the award were Quality Contracting and Barriere IDA Pharmacy.

A delicious meal was prepared and served by the Station House Restaurant accompanied by a no host bar manned by the Barriere Lions Club.
